- Community-based interventions for health risk reduction activities, such as smoking cessation
- Management of chronic diseases including asthma, cancer, cardiovascular disease, and diabetes
- Psychosocial aspects of cancer: supportive counseling and the patient's experience of cancer
- Geographic information analyses related to cancer prevention and control
- The complex relationships among type and source of social support with health care, disease prevention, and adjustment to disease
- Gerontology, successful aging, and health promotion among older adults
- Instrument development and validation, including factor analysis, structural equation modeling, and cluster analysis
