Professor of Pediatrics; Medical Director Pediatric Liver Transplant Program

Ross Shepherd joined the Faculty at Washington University School of Medicine in 2000, from his previous appointment as Professor of Pediatrics, University of Queensland, and Director of Gastroenterology & Hepatology, Royal Children's Hospital, Brisbane. He has been a practicing pediatric gastroenterologist and hepatologist since 1979. His practice includes the treatment of all disorders affecting the gastrointestinal tract, liver, biliary tract and pancreas in children. His special areas of expertise include pediatric liver diseases, specifically liver transplantation, spanning an experience of > 400 liver transplant patients over 20 years.
He is a principal investigator of the NIDDK-funded Biliary Atresia Research consortium, the Studies in Pediatric Liver Transplantation consortium and the Acute Liver Failure in Children study. He has contributed to >100 scientific publications in national/international medical journals and several books/chapters.
