Assistant Professor of Pediatrics; Director of PEMRAP
Dr. Luhmann received her undergraduate education at Southern
Illinois University-Carbondale where she graduated Magna Cum Laude
with a B.A. degree in Physiology. She earned her medical degree
from Loyola University-Stritch School of Medicine and completed
her Residency in Pediatrics at St. Louis Children's Hospital in
1994. After her residency, she completed the Pediatric Emergency
Medicine Fellowship Program at Washington University School of
Medicine. She became a full-time faculty member of the Division
of Pediatric Emergency Medicine at St. Louis Children's Hospital
in 1996.
Dr. Luhmann's clinical and teaching duties include working as an
attending physician in the Emergency Unit at St. Louis Children's
Hospital where she serves as a preceptor for pediatric housestaff
and medical students rotating through the unit. Dr. Luhmann is a
member of the Ambulatory Pediatric Association and the American
Academy of Pediatrics. Her research interests include sedation
techniques and pain management in children in the Emergency Unit
setting. Her clinical interests include pediatric emergency
medicine, sedation techniques, pediatric pain management, foot
trauma, and septic arthritis.
