Avihu Z. Gazit, M.D.

Assistant Professor of Pediatrics

Critical Care Medicine
Cardiology

I joined the faculty at Saint Louis Children’s Hospital, Washington University in 2007. Since I am dually trained both in Critical Care Medicine and Cardiology I devote most of my time to the care of the Pediatric cardiac surgery patients. Regarding that I recently wrote an extensive monograph describing our experience. My main interest is invasive monitoring devices as well as stratification of pediatric heart failure on the basis of cardiac autonomic nervous activities in patients with congenital heart disease. Previously I worked in collaboration with Dr. Patrick Jay on the electrophysiological properties of the atrioventricular node in a murine model applying advanced microelectrode mapping techniques.
