Dr. Wilson's laboratory studies the role of transcription factors in differentiation and development. This work centers on the GATA-binding proteins, a group of zinc finger transcription factors implicated in lineage commitment. Techniques employed in the laboratory include homologous recombination in embryonic stem cells, transgenic and chimeric mouse analyses, in situ hybridization, immunohistochemistry, DNA-binding studies, and trans-activation assays.
